How do I throw a waste pitch?

When a runner is on base, pressing "L2" to open the defensive strategies and selecting "Waste a Pitch" will first lock the pitch type to a fastball. After you begin the pitching motion, the location will automatically shift to high and outside, resulting in a waste pitch.
