Both the original arcade game "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and the arcade game "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time" are playable with 4 players locally and online.
The preview video shows 4 players during gameplay. Why will there be no 4 player option? Switch

There is no actual option in game to select single joy-cons as single players. It makes you use two controllers at once.
